We're off & running...with leading trainer, Lady TGCer Linda Rice as our conditioner and yours truly, Bill Hirsch / Hirsch Thoroughbred Management, LLC as the managing partner. Rice, co-leading trainer at the 2011 summer Belmont Park meet, attended the Ocala Breeders’ 6/22/11 Sale in Ocala, FL, and purchased Hip #560, a NY-Bred 2-year-old colt by Songandaprayer (father) out of Sun Lucky (mother) for $30,000. The then un-named (see Naming Contest Results below) dark bay colt has been shipped to Linda’s barn at Belmont Park on Long Island, NY. Linda is hopeful our speedy colt will get to the races during this summer season. If any TGC members are in the Belmont Park area and want to stop in and see our colt, you all are welcome to do so; just give me a shout so I can make the necessary arrangements.

Her prayers were answered: the entrant selection Pray for Rain won our Naming Contest!
Congratulations to Linda Rice who conjured up the winning moniker. In addition to bragging rights, Ms Rice wins a custom made black or brown leather belt with a solid brass buckle 
and an engraved solid brass Pray for Rain nameplate stitched on the belt to the side of the buckle. (See picture of belt from TGC Stable XVIII). If any other partners wish to order a similar belt with our colt’s name on an in-sewn engraved solid brass nameplate, you may do so. The belts are available in black or brown and in men and women sizes. Please let me know if you wish to order a belt; the all-inclusive price is $50.
